2011 United Way Campaign Kick-off By Reba Green-Holley
United Way’s vision is a world where all individuals and families achieve their potential through education, income stability and healthy lives. The mission is to improve people’s lives by mobilizing the community to advance the common good. The kick-off for United Way giving has started. Now is the time to mobilize your caring power by making a pledge to help your community to empower people.
Gates County 4-H benefits from pledges given through Albemarle Area United Way, Combined Federal Campaign and North Carolina State Employee United Way. Through your donations Gates County 4-H is able to provide programming for youth ages 5-18 years of age. In 2011, Gates County reached 638 youth in variety of education programs in the area of science, technology, health and wellness, agriculture, plants and animals and citizenship. Please assist Gates County 4-H to provide opportunities for youth through your donation. Designate your pledge to Gates County 4-H by completing a pledge card through your job or making a cash contribution. Tax-deductible donations can be made payable to Albemarle Area United Way and designate “Gates County 4-H” as the recipient. Donations can be brought to the Gates County Extension Center, 112 Court Street, Gatesville. Help us help the youth of Gates County GATES COUNTY gives our county's residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University. Through educational programs, publications, and events, Cooperative Extension agents deliver unbiased, research-based information to Gates County citizens.
