There have been some recent changes in the realm of Commercial Horticulture and Forestry for Gates, Chowan, and Perquimans Counties. Read on to find out more!

On April 1, 2016, I began a new role as the Area Specialized Agent, Commercial Fruits & Vegetables, for the northeast region of NC. In this role I will continue to work with commercial fruit and vegetable production, but on a wider scale than I did as a 3-county agent. I will still be based out of the Gates County office, but will now cover 35 counties. I will no longer cover commercial ornamental or forestry questions, but the staff in the Gates, Chowan and Perquimans County offices will gladly continue to assist you with this.

My former 3-county position was recently opened for rehire. If you know anyone interested in this position, please have them visit https://jobs.ncsu.edu/postings/68165 to apply online. We look forward to a good pool of candidates!

During the interim vacancy, I will do my best to continue serving local fruit and vegetable growers, but please understand I may not be as readily available as I was in the past, due to my new extensive coverage area. If you cannot reach me, the staff in the Gates, Chowan and Perquimans County Extension offices will gladly assist you. We appreciate your patience during this time!
