Highway Harvest: Your Guide to Roadside Success

Interested in growing and selling produce or starting a roadside stand? Are you looking for new ways to expand and market your existing roadside operation? Make plans to join us for Highway Harvest! This 7-session program is designed to help produce growers, market owners and aspiring roadside entrepreneurs understand the ins and outs of direct-to-consumer produce growing and roadside stand marketing. We will cover different topics in each session including irrigation, marketing, certifications, licensures and diversified livestock production. The session schedule is included below:

2025


  • October 7: So You Want to Have a Roadside Market Stand? Basics & Considerations
  • October 21: Farm Stand Certifications & Licensures
  • November 6: Produce Handling and Safety

2026


  • January 13: Diversified Livestock Production
  • February 10: Integrated Pest Management and Irrigation
  • February 24: Cut Flowers & Honey Bees
  • March 10: Marketing

Each session will begin at 6:15 PM and will be held at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Gates County Center, located at 112 Court Street, Gatesville, NC.
