Campers will participate in outdoor activities, leadership exercises, and team-building challenges that foster independence, self-confidence, and collaboration. The 4-H camping environment allows youth to build friendships, explore nature, and gain hands-on experience in areas like environmental stewardship and healthy living, all while having fun. This enriching experience promotes lifelong skills that benefit both their personal and academic lives.
This is the ultimate 6-day sleep-away camp experience for ages 8 to 12! Campers go home with new skills, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. Participants are placed in co-ed groups for activities during the day and sleep in single-gender cabin groups based on age overnight. Activities include kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, rock climbing, ecology, crabbing, archery, swimming, arts and crafts, sports, games, and more.
Not ready to give up the 4-H camp experience? 4-H Adventure Camp is for ages 13 – 14. In conjunction with our typical 4-H Traditional camp activities, this camp provides campers the opportunity to do an overnight tent camping experience at a local state park. Participants learn how to build a campfire, set up and manage a campsite, cook over an open flame, and implement basic navigation and survival skills while going on a short hike and even a kayaking trip on Lake Phelps. During the rest of the week, they are participating in fun programs at camp. Trained staff accompany campers throughout the week.
