This program, delivered in partnership with the State Employees Credit Union (SECU) and the Gates County School System, focuses on teaching students how to manage their money wisely, covering topics like budgeting, saving, and the impact of financial decisions on their futures.
Through interactive simulations, students experience real-life financial scenarios, such as managing monthly expenses, balancing a budget, and making decisions about housing, transportation, and food costs. SECU’s involvement ensures students gain insight from professionals in the financial industry, giving them practical advice on how to build a secure financial future.
As young adults enter the workforce, having a solid foundation in money management is critical to long-term success. For high school seniors in Gates County, this program provides not only valuable life skills but also an opportunity to start their adult lives with confidence in their ability to manage finances effectively. These essential lessons in financial responsibility will serve them well as they transition into adulthood, laying the groundwork for a stable and prosperous future.
